This year the institute has decided to allow students with marks 60% and above in Class XII board exams to appear for the aptitude test and personal interview. Admission to IPM (Integrated Program in Management) will be based on these criteria. Quantitative and verbal abilities will carry 60% weightage while 40% weighatge will be assigned to interview.
In 2011 when the program was introduced by the institute, it allowed only top 1000 students (with 90% and above) on the basis of their class XII marks to take the aptitude test and appear for personal interview. Over 5000 candidates had applied for the course. However, after shortlisting only 120 candidates were provided admission to the course.
Despite of the number of seats remaining same this year, candidates securing 60% and above in class 12 will get an opportunity to take the entrance test.
The institute has released the admission notification for the program this year. The last date to apply is July 20, 2012.The new selection criterion has raised the hopes of many students. Large numbers of students are expected to apply this year against the last year.
